Shoe size chart: centimetres to European size

Foot length in centimetres against the European (EU) size. The ½ sign marks a half size. The chart follows the standard Mondopoint relation: about 1.5 cm of room is added to the foot length, and the European size counts that length in Paris points of ⅔ cm.

What actually exists, by size

This table is why the page exists. Across 298 pairs in the catalogue the sizes are not stocked evenly, and the gap at the ends is large. Size 40 exists in 291 of 298 models, size 46 in only 21.

How to measure it properly

1. Stand barefoot on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall.

2. Mark the tip of your longest toe, which is not always the big one.

3. Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres, and do both feet.

4. Take the larger figure, and measure in the evening when the foot is widest.

How do I find my shoe size?

Measure your foot length. Stand barefoot on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark. Then look the figure up in the chart or type it into the calculator. A 26.5 cm foot takes a European 42.

How many centimetres is a size 42?

A European 42 fits a foot of 26.5 cm. A 41 is 26 cm and a 43 is 27.5 cm. Half sizes sit between the rows: 27 cm is a 42½.

How do I convert a Chinese (CN) size to a European one?

Not by the number. CN sizing changes from one seller to the next, so open the product’s size chart on the Chinese site, read the foot length in centimetres listed next to each size and pick the row closest to your measurement. Then type that same length here to get the European size.

My foot is between two sizes. Which one do I take?

If the model comes in a half size, take it. If not, go up: at 27 cm the chart gives 42½, and on a model without half sizes the 43 is the safer pick. A shoe that is too small hurts from day one, while half a size extra can be taken up with a thicker sock or an insole.

Can I convert US or UK sizes here?

No, on purpose. US and UK charts differ between brands and between men and women, and the gap can reach a full size. Foot length in centimetres does not change, so the calculator works with that alone. If a model’s chart also lists centimetres, compare by those.

Why not just take the size I always buy?

Because a 42 from one maker and a 42 from another are not the same shoe, and the gap runs to a full size. Foot length is the one number that does not move between makers, which is why the tool starts there rather than from the size you are used to.

Are these European sizes or Chinese ones?

European. The range gives it away: it runs 35 to 46 and carries the one-third and two-third fractions that only the European scale produces.

Is the list kept up to date?
